I was not a big fan of Firefly, but the time I did catch it I was really impressed.
I missed it mostly for the Time slot it was shoved into, which is why I miss most good shows, because I refuse to change my life around as well as set the VCR.
I went to the Serenity Movie with Vernon on a Sunny afternoon, and we both were looking forward to it.
I was going to this movie mainly for NATHAN FILLION, which was the reason I liked Firefly…
Serenity starts off with Action and doesn’t stop till your walking out of the Theater.
I thought there would be lulls in the film, because directors usually put them in, I guess they think the audience needs a breather.
But not this film, it grabs you and drags you happily threw the whole movie.
The cast was still great since the Firefly series, one of my favorites is JEWEL STAITE who plays Kaylee, who has a running joke through the Film, which I won’t tell you about because it’s best if you go in fairly fresh.
She also plays the mechanic in the film and is always covered with grease which is NICE.
Then there’s SUMMER GLAU who plays River who had some really cool fight scenes in the Flick….You’ll love the one close to the end of the film.
The rest of the cast had smaller parts but they all had there screen time and made good use of it.
Humor was rampant in the film which was a wonderful surprise, because they kept it in from the Firefly series.
You are given equal doses of Humor and action throughout the whole film.
Everyone seems to like this film and I am definitely one of them, but it is still taken some time for people to see this film.
It is not as well known as STAR WARS, so its not something people were raised with from Childhood.
I have to say this though, that Serenity is so much better than the NEW Star Wars Films.
I know some may not agree because they are prejudice, and feel that they can’t say they didn’t like Star Wars…..and there will ALWAYS be ones that will never change there minds.
They think if it has a Jedi or a Wookie in the film, it must be an awesome movie and hell with you if you think otherwise.
What I am trying to say is this movie was way worth the money and I was not at all disappointed…like me and so many others were after star wars..
See Serenity and you will enjoy yourself.
