B-rent!
Wow, great artwork (as always). Brent used to work with me at Panaprint (several years ago), he was a walking "clip-art" book, as well as a great Designer. God has chosen some unusual paths to allow you to continue on with your talents, what a testimony to following your dreams under God's provision.

Thanks for being a great friend,
jerry

cbgiles, Howdy and welcome to the spiritual chat room.

I think you may have a mistaken image of people here.

IMHO they are not follower's of Urantia. They are believers in God.

It's not like they worship a book and speak poorly of Jesus. On the contrary they have a profound love of Jesus and actually live what he taught. So that even as one would condemn them for reading and sharing their opinions about a book; because of their enriched faith reach out to that person that condemns them with love because that's what Jesus our Lord taught us. Perhaps you missed or forgot that lesson when you embraced the ones you liked.

Reading the Urantia book doesn't make you less a born again Christian or less a Catholic or less a Methodist or less a Protestant or less a Mormon or less a spiritual person. Just as hundreds or thousands of devotional or spiritual books aren't the Bible and don't claim to be. Many people feel they are useful in helping them to be better spiritual human beings. The Urantia Book is like that for some people including most of us here.

In my experience no one here would want you to feel threatened by anything you might read in the Urantia Book. It's not meant to take the place of your Bible. If anything it gave me more of a desire to read the Bible. And after reading Part 4 in the Urantia Book on Jesus I read the Bible with a new desire and passion. I read the Bible from cover to cover. I read many versions of the Bible. And I started acting more like the Bible teaches a person to act. This was after I read Part 4 of the Urantia book.

So for sure cbgiles, don't read anything that you feel threatens your faith. I believe and I think many here believe similarly that:
Romans 8:31-39

If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him? Who will bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who acquits us. Who will condemn? It was Christ Jesus who died rather was raised who is also at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us.

What will separate us from the Love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword? No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
and as this Bible passage is reinforced by words in the Urantia Book just as it might be in some other spiritual book you might read written by a Spiritual leader you might admire:
"The Father in heaven will not suffer a single child on earth to perish if that child has a desire to find the Father and truly longs to be like him. Our Father even loves the wicked and is always kind to the ungrateful. If more human beings could only know about the goodness of God, they would certainly be led to repent of their evil ways and forsake all known sin. All good things come down from the Father of light, in whom there is no variableness neither shadow of changing. The spirit of the true God is in man's heart. He intends that all men and women should be brothers and sisters. When men and women begin to feel after God, that is evidence that God has found them, and that they are in quest of knowledge about him. We live in God and God dwells in us.”
Do you see anything in that passage that isn't in agrement with what your Bible teaches you?

So as you can see cbgiles, we love and honor God and are saved by Jesus Christ just as you are being born again in the Holy Spirit our guide in this life as well as the next. And we enjoy other books that streghthen us spiritually and help us get a better understanding out of the Bible The Word Of God and The lessons Of Jesus Christ the son of God made man to show us the WAY.

So God Bless you my brother cbgiles. And please stay on your path and don't let us distract you from following you beliefs through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Peace be with you brother Giles! In Christ's Love, we salute you as you progress in your spritual growth and strive to touch other peoples hearts through the way you live your life and love them as God loves you!
