Okay guys and gals Family Bones is not the best book I have ever read but certainly not the worst. The book starts off with a kid named Sean going to live with his Aunt and Uncle. Sean seems to have had a hard life so far and now it gets even worse. His new family appears a tad crazy and the Uncle even kills a guy in the beginning. In number two a new character is introduce named Wendy. This relationship is a bit weird and off beat at first, but I almost could feel an ever so slight connection to it.

Family Bones is based on a true story about teenage angst, family secrets, and possible murder on a small Midwestern farm. The writing duties have been placed in the expert hands of Shawn Granger. The artwork is done by multiple artists; Book one the Pencils by Orlando Baez and in book two we see the pencil work of Benito Olea Bellido.

The writing was solid through out both books. Though I did not enjoy myself in the beginning portion where Uncle Ray shoots his raccoon hunting buddy, it seemed very random and out of place. The art was inconsistent from #1 to #2, it was a tad confusing in a way because the characters didn’t look the same in chapter two as they did in chapter one. Other than that very small complaint, Family Bones was a good book and if the art work can stay consistent I’d really like to see where this story goes.
