Harry Roland has an interesting Bio, that’s for sure. His artwork veers to the fantastical. The art he has produced has a certain Frazetta quality about it. It feels like he has given a nod to the fantasy art from back in the day when you bought a Conan book just for the cover. I hope that’s accepted as a compliment. We asked, and he generously sent us a handful of his finished work for you my friends to peruse.
Harry Roland lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland. A lot of his experience centered around advertising art but for the past few years he has concentrated on fantasy and comic book work. He has created covers for Famous Monsters and Ted White’s Fantastic and Amazing pulp magazines. More recently, his covers have graced the front of Moonstone’s Kolchak, the Night Stalker comics and covers and sequential art for King Tractor Comics, as well as a story by Sean Dulaney for Digital Webbing Presents. Harry is becoming more and more well known for his illustrations of Edgar Rice Burroughs stories, especially the Martian series. Currently, he is illustrating three comic book series…Devil Water by Steve Barr and Innocent by Shawn Granger, both for King Tractor Comics and White Ape by James Robert Smith for Amryl Entertainment.
