Our inside guys have hit the mother lode with this one. It appears that Jack Tripper will be bumbling to a theater near you by mid 2010. With a rash of TV shows being remade these days a Three’s Company film, although being in my opinion a bad idea is not a huge surprise. What did surprise me though was the talent rumored for this zany flick. Our sources have leaked some big names with a few shockers rounding out the cast.
The directing duties have fallen into the lap of a relatively unknown, Berry Stevenson. We did a little internet search and found his resume mostly consisting of Pepsi commercials and mediocre music videos. Does this indicate that he can’t make a great film? Not necessarily, but then again who knows.
The roll of Jack Tripper is rumored to be played by the ever talented Jim Carry. The word on the street claims Pamela Anderson has already signed on to play Crissy. There is no word yet on who will pick up the roll of Janet. The only controversy surrounding “Three’s Company” is Berry Stevenson’s horrible casting choice of signing Burt Reynolds to fill the shoes of the roll made famous by Don Knotts. YOU HEARD ME RIGHT! Mr. Furley will be played by “The Bandit”. Ben Stiller is rumored for the roll of Jack’s trusted wing man Larry.
Apparently the plot is very hush, hush. However our source describes it as a mixture of three or four popular episodes. The movie will be laid out in much the same format as the Brady Bunch Movie.
in my oppinion, If this flick is done very tongue in cheek it may have a shot at truly being funny. Otherwise we may have another Miami Vice on our hands. Please god, anything but that. Keep your eye out for this one, and if you don’t see it hitting the theaters you may find it on the direct to DVD shelf in your nearby Blockbuster. Until next week, keep your ears to the wall and if you hear some great movie gossip pass it on to the rest of us.
