I really am digging Orlando’s style. It has a very kinetic energy about it. The lines in his work are free form, detailed and a joy to behold. I imagine we will see his artwork gracing the pages of Marvel and DC before even he knows it. Orlando has written a Bio in his own words and I really liked it so I’m posting it as is. Also please check out his gallery of work.
I was born in New York on April 12, 1970, at 12:00 p.m. almost as if for some special possible destiny like drawing comics; I lived in the lower east of Manhattan known as east village. I could be related to Joan Baez, the folk singer but sadly I am not. Currently I am working on some creative anthology projects; a creator-owned project which is in process, and not yet to be mentioned, but can be seen in the gallery of my artwork. I really studied comics under the influence of a professional comic artist; inker, Ken Landgraf during the mid-90′s in his studio. I can tell you he’s done it all, pencils and inks for Marvel, DC comics and animation. If it wasn’t for his influence, I wouldn’t have my bio or artwork here!
I consider my pencil work dynamic with energy and always changing in styles and continue to experiment in drawing differently with other favorite artist influences like Joe Madd, and Humberto Ramos.
As I have penciled my latest work for King Tractor Press, “Family Bones” issue #1 and inked by the amazing Ken Landgraf. In addition, I have currently penciled an eight page anthology for Zacherley’s Midnight Terrors issue #4 released in May of 2006; published under the arm of “Chanting Monks Press” It is titled, The reunion” written by Robert Tinnell author of “The Black Forest” and penciled and inked- washed by me.
My advice to those breaking into the comics, work hard and very hard!
