The first thing I noticed when I opened my copy of Tony Loco #1 is the artwork. He strives to set a mood and achieves it on every page. If you are looking for a super polished style that is overly photoshoped that you may find in other highly commercialized book, you will not find it here, which is a breath of fresh air.
Mark Teague has a very cool style of drawing. It is cool looking and fun.
I got a kick out of the overly exaggerated expressions of the characters.
As always the art is what brings me in, but it’s the writing that decides if I stay.
It has a great story in this book. It differently sets you up for what is coming.
But, even with the main character having no dialog Derek McCaw made you care about him with just the supporting characters.
I cannot wait to see what Ms. Even will do in the future in the story of Tony Loco.
Tony Loco not your typical Hero, which I believe will make this series a must have.
