First of all, if your not excited about the mere prospect of an entire movie revolving around Wolverine, you are either very old and out of touch with the wonders of this modern age, or a true stick in the mud. I for one have been dreaming of a Wolverine film since I was but a wee lad of maybe twelve years old. When I say wee lad I mean a three hundred pound comic geek with greasy pimples covering my smarmy mug. But that aside the point is that this has the possibility of being one of the great ones. This has the potential of being the Comic Book based movie of our generation; or it could be the flop of the century, time will tell.
With only a little research and the ability to read, (which is only one of the many secret powers that I picked up from my 14 years of grade school) I have procured a bunch of interesting information regarding this highly anticipated film.
The obvious place to begin creating a great film is with a great script, and for that you need a great writer. In this case we have hit pure gold. I’m not kidding here; I have a hard time believing that this man would be willing or interested in doing a wolverine script and at the same time love him to death for wanting the job. The writer in question here is none other then the incredible, David Benioff. What was that? Never heard of the man? You really need to read a book sometime; comics are great but once in a while just hit the library. David Benioff, just in case you don’t know, wrote the novel “The 25th hour†which later went on to become a Spike Lee film of the same name staring Ed Norton. Benioff is one of those writers that directors are clamoring to work with. This guy is in demand. But here is the great part: he has been a Wolverine fan for over twenty-three years. He has been reading Wolverine comics since he was a kid. Benioff has blown off all the other gigs he could have had and instead requested the opportunity to write the Wolverine script. If that isn’t the best news you’ve heard lately I can’t believe you are still reading my article.
I know that everyone kind of wants to see theâ€Wolverine in Japan†stuff and I am one of the many. But Hugh Jackman has already kind of announced that the likelihood of that being in the first film is not likely at all. Instead we are going to be in prequel heaven. The story of Weapon-X along with the origins of Logan will be explored. There are also some rumors of the whole “Nam†storylines creeping in and possibly some familiar faces such as Fred J. Dukes AKA The Blob making an appearance. One of the more interesting character rumors out there comes from Tyler Mane who played Sabertooth in the original X-film. Tyler says that he has been approached to play Victor Creed who later becomes Sabertooth.
A director has yet to be chosen but the word on the street is that Fox is interested in getting either D.J. Caruso or Len Wiseman to step into the helm. Caruso has directed the film “Disturbia†and also episodes of “Smallvilleâ€. Wiseman on the other hand has directed “Live Free or Die Hard†along with “Underworld” and its sequel. Wiseman seems to be the better choice but then again, who knows.
Wolverine’s movie will be set as I understand it 17 years ago. The first act takes place mainly in the wilderness, which would make a lot of sense if you are truly doing a Wolverine origin story. I and Irondude have been discussing how a Wolverine movie should begin for nearly 13 years now. It always begins with Logan in the wilds of Canada, almost an animal, his mind lost to the Weapon X program. It has to begin that way, at the beginning.
With so much still up in the air I can only hope for a great movie. I can only preen over the idea that soon Logan will once again slash his razor claws across the big screen. I can only pray that this film will be everything that a true fan can really appreciate. Until then I will be right here at Herospy.com keeping all of you out there up to date on the progress and consumed with the idea that this film will be the one.

I Agree with all of this article, yet i know they will always add something stupid, and make the film not as good as it could be. I am reminded of a rapping transformer in the last transformers film. YUCK
