A flood of orders quickly depleted Diamond’s stock of the fourth issue of Mark Powers’ ongoing sci-fi saga Drafted this week. Readers and retailers will not have to wait long to see the drought ended, however, because Devil’s Due is currently rushing a new shipment from its printer to fulfill new orders.

Bestselling author and award-winning editor James Lowder (Prince of Lies, Knight of the Black Rose) applies his talents to a new ongoing comic book series this February in Devil’s Due’s Worlds of Dungeons & Dragons. Lowder will oversee adaptations of the works of such legendary storytellers as R.A. Salvatore, Margaret Weis, and Tracy Hickman, which will pack the giant 48-page monthly comic.

“Each issue of Worlds of Dungeons & Dragons will feature two stories from Wizards of the Coast’s bestselling fantasy settings, including the Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Ravenloft, and Eberron,” Lowder said. I wanted to give you a heads-up about an announcement that NBC put out yesterday regarding Heroes Evolutions. While we wait for Heroes Season 3 to come around, there’s going to be a new Heroes Evolutions storyline, complete with graphic novel (you can get recaps of the first two storylines here: http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/evolutions/). Here’s the relevant part of the announcement NBC put out:

“The next chapter in the highly anticipated “Heroes” online mythology continues with “Heroes Evolution.” Fans will discover intriguing new back-story and plot twists through the “Heroes” online and mobile micro-sites.
