Dan Dare #2 Review

Dan Dare
Issue #2
Published by: Virgin Comics
Written by: Garth Ennis
Illustrated by: Gary Erskine

Reviewed by: Shawn Swanson

I would like to begin this review by saying that I am a huge fan of the work of Garth Ennis. Garth’s series “Preacher” sets in my collection as a proud reminder of what comic book writing can be. Mr. Ennis proved that “The Punisher” could be more then just some crazy dude with a skull T-shirt and a bunch of guns. I mean really! Garth Ennis is a great writer, but (yes there is a “but” in this article.) Dan Dare was not great. I can see what he was shooting for with this book. He wanted to present to us a character that he was raised on. The problem maybe is that it’s quite like eating haggis for the first time; I mean if you were raised on haggis you may think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread but if you haven’t then you are going to gag on every bite. Dan Dare is an iconic character in Brittan and no one wants to destroy an icon. Read the rest of this entry »

Kevin Durand the blob in Woverine

In: Movie News

If this is true they are going to have to do some major computer effects on this one.
Here is a little on the character if you are interested in the Fat man: Before being depowered, the Blob’s mutant physiology grants him a number of advantages. He has superhuman strength and great resistance to physical injury due to a further mutation. The Blob’s elastic, blubbery skin has proven to be difficult to penetrate by gunfire, missiles, and even Wolverine’s claws; though with sufficient force the claws can lacerate his flesh.[28] On one occasion, a concentrated optic blast fired by Cyclops is sufficient to puncture a hole through his shoulder, much to the shock of Dukes himself. He can also alter his personal mono-directional gravity field beneath himself to make himself virtually immovable as long as he is in contact with the ground, although an incredible force can uproot him, along with a chunk of whatever he is standing on. Survivor Micronesia Review Week 3

In: Survivor

survivorWell, I will say that I’m still outraged at the stupidity of the favorites last night at Tribal Council. The only person whom I’m not outraged with is Amy! She voted for Cirie! Why on earth didn’t the rest of them?!?!??! Why would you let someone who does nothing, but sit around and talk about how they should be carried on a bed or catered too stick around? That makes NO sense to me whatsoever! NONE! She is useless. Sure, she is good for humor, but that does not win you a million dollars now does it? Come on people!

Now, Ozzie was right when he said to not vote out Yau-Man. They need him! Well, needed him I guess we can say now. Yau-Man is smart and he could of helped them win challenges when it came to using their brains. Well, we now know they don’t have any because they voted out the smartest player out there. Dummies!
