Okay, I’ll admit to being a sucker for parody films. I loved “300” and I’m excited to check out this new unrated release of “Meet the Spartans” due out June 3rd. “Meet the Spartans” was written by the same guys who wrote “Date Movie” and “Epic Movie”. I liked both of those odd balls. Don’t get all “Academy Award” on me, acting as if you haven’t watched every singe Parody film that’s come your way since “Airplane”. I know you! You read my website! That alone is dead give away, so read on.
In Meet the Spartans, the heroic Leonidas, armed with nothing but leather underwear and a cape, leads a ragtag group of 13—count ’em, 13!—warriors to defend their homeland against the invading Persians, whose ranks include Ghost Rider, Rocky Balboa, the Transformers, and a hunchbacked Paris Hilton. Forstchen, has already received tremendous advance praise, such as the comments from BrokenFrontier.com reviewer Dave Baxter, who says of the new ogn, “If you’ve ever admired Maus or Persepolis or Pride of Baghdad, Finding Peace is the next step, a superior work that admirably finds its place next to these, and arguably surpasses them page for page.” Read the rest of this entry »
“Lost Boys 2″ staring Corey Feldman and Corey Haim goes directly to DVD! I’m surprised with such an all star cast that this film wouldn’t have made it to the big screen. Maybe they should have got Mr. T and David Hasselhoff to round out the cast, now that sounds like an Academy Award just waiting to happen. Please note the sarcasm and watch the trailer to Lost Boys 2: The Tribe.
