Right off the bat I want to make it clear that I have yet to read “whatever”. But the great thing about a blog is that weather I read it or not is immaterial. This book interests me and I want to read it, and I want to tell you that I want to read it, and I want you to read it because I want to have interesting conversations regarding “Whatever”. The cool thing about Alternative Comics is that they make us want to think and discuss and ruminate, so today lets ruminate about this killer collection by Award-winning artist Karl Stevens. Summit Entertainment has announced Astro Boy will see a North America release on Friday, October 23, 2009
Astro Boy’s all-star cast features the voices of Academy Award®-winning actor Nicolas Cage, Donald Sutherland, Nathan Lane, Bill Nighy and Eugene Levy with Freddie Highmore in the title role. David Bowers (Flushed Away) is directing Astro Boy from a screenplay written by Timothy Harris (Trading Places, Kindergarten Cop), with Maryann Garger producing.

The Hollywood Reporter has viewership for the season three two-hour premiere down 25% from last year.
The “Heroes” debut (9.9 million viewers, 4.9 preliminary adults 18-49 rating and a 12 share and matched its lowest original episode rating ever. (”Heroes” was actually down even more, 33%, if you include NBC’s heavily protested move last fall to roll its Saturday encore rating into its premiere). Clip show lead-in “Heroes: Countdown to the Premiere” (6 million, 2.6/7) placed third in the hour.
I actually enjoyed the premeir and look forward to upcoming epasodes.
Arcana Comics is proud to announce that Jennica Harper has been named the screenwriter of the upcoming animated Clockwork Girl film, which recently received funding from Telefilm Canada.
Jennica Harper was born in North Bay, Ontario, grew up in Brampton, and now lives in Vancouver, BC. She works as a screenwriter and story editor in the Canadian film industry, and is also a published poet and occasional stand-up comic.
