There are those who listen to their own heartbeat and have the desire and passion to turn their dreams into reality, no matter what the odds, and it is through innovative minds like these that Beloved Pictures was born.

After a long evening of meetings and video conference calls to Los Angeles, Caleb Applegate takes a deep breath and smiles. He’s just signed another client to his up-and-coming entertainment management subsidiary, Beloved Management, as well as hit the green light on a pilot his production company, Beloved Pictures, is producing. Though days for Applegate and his two Partners, Michael Ludlum and Jason Usry are long and tenuous, they never seem to grow tired because they are in fact living their dream of working in the film industry.

Beloved Pictures, LLC was founded in 2007 by Applegate, Ludlum and Usry with the sole purpose of producing films of the highest artistic and spiritual integrity.

“We envisioned a company that didn’t compromise in its artistic creativity or its dedication to telling unique stories with values,” said Applegate. “So often we see quality stories that don’t bring to the table artistic excellence in the final product. We wanted to change that.”

Applegate first met Usry while working on his postgraduate education in Louisville, Kentucky.

“I was newly married, going to school full-time, working full-time and writing screenplays,” recalls Applegate. “I had this one particular project that I put up on the website, www.triggerstreet.com, created by the award winning actor Kevin Spacey, and Jason was one of my first reviewers. We hit it off from there and decided to start writing together.”

Three feature-length screenplays later, Jason and Caleb had the vision of creating Beloved Pictures.
“It was then that I moved back home and met Michael (Ludlum), who also had the same dream” said Applegate. “His business savvy and experience in the arts were unprecedented assets to our newly forming company.”

It was then that the three teamed together and formed Beloved Pictures, LLC. And with years of industry contacts, Beloved Pictures has taken off.

“We just don’t stop,” said Applegate. “We don’t quit.”

After retaining a top industry entertainment attorney, the three partners started making the rounds.
“Not only are we busy shopping our own work (screenplays), but we’re also building the infrastructure of our companies,” said Applegate. “We had this vision of creating a subsidiary to our company that focused on a select group of writers and directors that were at the top of their game in their respective crafts.” With an overwhelmingly positive response, Beloved Pictures created Beloved Management, an arm that fosters the careers of up-and-coming talented writers and directors in film.

“We’re always accepting submissions from writers and directors,” said Applegate. “The response has been unbelievable. With hundreds of submissions every month, things seem to be going pretty well!”
Currently, Usry resides in Savannah, Georgia, and heads up East Coast operations while Applegate and Ludlum maintain a presence in L.A.

Other projects Beloved Pictures is currently working on include web-based productions, several pilots and a feature length, award-winning screenplay.

“Right now we’re just trying to put the pieces together,” said Applegate. “There’s so much work and strategic planning that goes into pursuing a feature film, especially one of this caliber.”
