In the early 90s Sam Keith created and illustrated a little comic called ‘The Maxx’. While ‘The Maxx’ wasn’t by any leap of the imagination known for changing the way comics are made, I like to believe that in some way Sam Keith did make us stop for a minute and rethink what comics are, and can be. The unstable characters that haunted the pages of ‘The Maxx’ wormed their bipolar stories deep into the hearts of millions when MTV turned the book into an animated series. Since then this lovable, purple, homeless, hero, has become a cult favorite.
Goeff Beckett of Shocker toys will be unveiling it latest figures at the upcoming San Diego International Comic Convention. Among the collection of toys will be ‘The Maxx’ character ‘Maxx’, sculpted by Ricky K.Y. Lam.
