The people who make movies strive to be individuals. They choose to be free thinkers with an absolute eye for originality. I wish that last statement was true. The truth is they are in it for money baby! That’s why it isn’t a huge surprise that they want to make sequels to big hit films. These films either don’t deserve a sequel or the idea of a sequel seems ridiculous. You be the judge. I think some of these will surprise you.

#1. Cliffhanger 2: The Dam
Did anyone enjoy watching the overacted vanity film Cliffhanger? I wont be shocked if Sly decides he can pull off the stunts required for this one. After a dismal Rocky and a strange geriatric Rambo, I kind of hope they go a different direction. I can’t believe we are even discussing a sequel to Cliffhanger.

#2. The People Under The Stairs 2
Wes Craven probably wont be attached. I actually liked the original but this sure to be direct to DVD sequel doesn’t sound like fun.

#3. War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave
Directed by C Thomas Howell…PAUSE FOR GIGGLING. I know that the moment I walked from the theater after having somehow survived the Cruise version of this film, I thought to myself, I sure hope they can take this movie to the next level with a tasty War of the Worlds 2.

#4. 300 Eh… 2?
Zack Snyder confirmed that a sequel was in the works. I have heard that it’s actually a prequel. I loved 300 but I can’t see anything good sprouting from this idea.

#5. Point Break 2
We know for sure that Patrick Swayze will not be in it.

There was a WOTW that came out at the same time as Tom Cruise’s version that was direct to DVD. War of the Worlds 2 : The Next Wave was a sequel to that and has already come out…
yeah it is really bad, but then again so was the dvd it was a sequel to.
Hah, I should have done a little more research on that one. Thanks for the update. I should probably replace that entry. I’m pretty lazy though. I went to your blog. I liked it, very cool. Thanks for the comment.
While I agree with your list for the most part, I do have to say that the latest Rambo and Rocky were really good, entertaining movies.
