I’m just not that interested in another “post-apocalyptic world” story. I have seen it before, in fact “post-apocalyptic world” anything, tends to get on my nerves. So why did I select ‘The Wind Raider’ a “post-apocalyptic world” based book, as the Featured Comic for the month of February? Simply stated… I had to. Once I reeled back the cover and laid eyes on page one, something happened to me. Actually, I should say someone and something. The someone is Gabriel Hardman and the something is Mr. Hardman’s artwork. The art within these pages is nothing short of stunning. Every tantalizing panel of this comic has a gritty, dusty, old west style, cinematic flare. It’s not only visually awesome, it also has a very cool story. I still admit that post-apocalyptic comics are not my thing, but I like this book against my better judgment. So I’m giving ‘The Wind Raider’ the highest recommendation we have here at TwelveFingers. I’ve included a link to the preview, so take a look, I promise that you’ll like what you see.
When you control the Wind… you control the future. In a post-apocalyptic Wasteland a heroic loner emerges to battle the evil that has expanded across a barren, windswept world dominated with swift land sailors and marauding desert pirates.
A deadly destiny collides with mythological past in a windswept world dominated by evil. Catch in the exciting action as the Ki Warrior, Tristan, tries to extract revenge from the Overlord Dagon. And witness the death…and rebirth of Joshua as he becomes the next… Wind Raider! Gabe Hardman, Hollywood story board artist for such theatrical franchises as “Spiderman” and “The X-men,” has created a visual masterpiece of science fiction fantasy. Remember- when you control the Wind…you control the future.
