Here is a cool fan Made Batman story done by Aaron Schoenke. For someone to put time in money into a short film about Batman is something Hero Spy will always appreciate. Batman is cool. Film is cool.

When the Joker escapes from Arkham and murders the parents of a young boy, Batman recalls the pain of losing his own parents as a child. He is pushed past his limits to the point where his focus becomes revenge on all who stand in his way, including many of Gotham’s underworld. Finally, Batman is forced to look at the psychological profile of his own mind and except the consequences of his life to find resolve.

Carpet Bomb Comics – Help Their Self Published Comics Happen

Carpet Bomb Comics, founded by Small Press Idol 2009 winner Erik Hendrix and fellow Small Press Idol Alumni Michael Nelsen are getting ready to release their first two books into the market, Faction issue 1 (follow up to the Small Press Idol winning project) by Erik Hendrix, Arnie Gordon, Jon Bolerjack, and Giuseppe Pica, and The Citizens, by Erik Hendrix, Michael Nelsen, and Ibrahim Mustafa.

Herospy Says “the plot-line, character development, and dialogue is wonderful… Erik… has done an incredible job of writing a script that, while having complex characters, and concepts, never seems to become overwhelming” and GeekSyndicate.com describes as “the start of an epic and global supernatural adventure.”

Faction tells the story of a former Marine, Acker Kinney, who loses an arm in conflict only to find himself attacked by a demonic minion, saved by a secret society, and wrapped into a struggle between warring Factions in the backdrop of the near future. The schemes of gods, the desires of demons, the powers of nature, myth, and the supernatural – all set forth to control a world the Society has sworn to protect. This is Faction. The Citizens tells the story of a group who has decided the best way to protect humanity, is to control humanity, by any means they deem necessary. Tired of this totalitarian action, and sitting idly by while those who have sworn to save lives have taken a dark turn, Kenneth Hastings must enlist some old friends if he hopes to set things right, even if they resist the call. This is the first issue in a twelve-part twisting saga of death, mystery, passion, change, and the invention of a new age of heroes.

This weeks artist interview is with the exceptionally talented artist Clive Arno.

Clive Arno is a professional Artist ,Writer, and Photographer. He has worked for Marvel and DC comics, and has created more than 20 comic books.. His work appears in various magazines. For more info and art please visit Arno’s website.

www.clivearno.com

Why did you decide to become an artist?

I saw my older brother drawing and I tried to copy him. Well, the more I drew the more I began to enjoy it and started to draw on my own. Later, I found out about the appealing working conditions…staying home, drawing when you wanted to, not having to deal with office politics, and I do so love women!.. I decided early on that was the job for me.

Who are your biggest influences?

In general it grew from a love of pulp novel stories and their artists . As my love for the art grew, I learned of their names such as Rosen, McGinnis, and Bob Peak. And later with more contemporary artist like Patrick Nagel and Sorayama.

What is your favorite art medium?

Anything that gets the job done… Really, my main medium is color pencil, water colors, markers, oils and I often use all three to get the desired effect.

Are you working on anything right now that you can talk about?

I am working on a collection of my pin-up work called “The Art of Arno: Pop Tarts” I am looking forward to publishing my first book.

Are you interested in doing commissions?

I enjoy doing commission work from time to time, but because of my schedule, my ability to take commissions are limited.

I can be contacted through my website: www.clivearno.com and snail mail P.O. Box 7441 Philadelphia, PA 19104 or through my phone number 267-539-6768. All inquiries will be handled by my trusted aid and companion, Seiko Ti. The charges depend entirely on what specifics are given. I always draw on the same size paper 19×24 so the art is fairly large!, and paint on same size illustration board 15×20. Pencil renderings normally start at around $100 and paintings at $200.

There are a lot of writers out there who have written a comic book scripts and need an artist, would you be interested in working on an independent book like that?

I would be interested in doing the cover art. The idea of encapsulating an entire story in a single picture has always interested me, which is what I have been doing for the past couple of years.

Thank you for your time Clive.

Recently while wandering around facebook and checking out the many pages of original artwork stored on numerous artist profiles, I decided that it would be cool to interview some of these artists and present some of their artwork for your perusal. Our first artist interview is with a very talented young man from Indonesia by the name of  Ferry Ickhwano.

I was immediately impressed with Ickhwano’s work. I think you will agree that he has a distinct style. I especially liked his rendition of Deadpool, which you can see later on in the gallery.

Please enjoy the interview and take a moment to check out the gallery. If you would like to contact Ickhwano I am posting his contact information at the end of the interview.

Why did you decide to become an artist?

I love art and would like to spend my life with art. My first love is with “Art” :)

Who are your biggest influences?

Mostly all of comic artists.

What is your favorite art medium?

Traditional, brush and micron pen. I can also do digital work, I grew up in the digital era and digital artwork is the first thing I learned before traditional, but at this moment I’m more focusing myself to sharpen my traditional skill, and I enjoy it very much. Sometimes I combine both techniques, inking in traditional and coloring in Photoshop.

Are you working on anything right now that you can talk about?

I’m working on somethings, but they are all classified, so sorry I can’t share them with you guys at this time. :(

Are you interested in doing commissions?

Sure, I always appreciate art lovers :)

You can message me at my Facebook page here http://www.facebook.com/ickhwano or at my Deviant Art page http://ickhwano.deviantart.com

My rate for commissions vary, just contact me for a quote. :)

There are a lot of writers out there who have written a comic book script and need an artist, would you be interested in working on an independent book like that?

Sure I love working together with fellow writers out there, been doing that so many times but no free work so back-end deal is a big “NO”. Sorry guys don’t want to waste my time for that situation.

Thank you for your time Ferry Ickhwano.
