As some of you might know, early this year Ape Entertainment released FABLEWOOD, a fantasy anthology I edited that was lucky enough to include J.P Ahonen and Sarah Mensinga from Flight, Ryan Ottley, as well many others. Anyway, recently I received an e-mail with some news I still find myself somewhat surprised about days later and I wanted to share.
Ursula K. Le Guin, the prolific an award winning author best known for The Earthsea Cycle and The Left Hand of Darkness recently mentioned Fablewood as part of her series of website articles titled "Some Books I've Liked."
Fablewood was mentioned in the August 2008 entry along side Marjane Satrapiâs Persepolis, Joann Sfarâs The Rabbiâs Cat I and II, and Eric Shanowerâs Age of Bronzeâbetter company than one could hope to be mentioned with as far as Iâm concerned. Also she mentioned that Flight alumni Sarah Mensinga created the story that she enjoyed the most.

Personally, I am pretty excited about this and simply wanted to share, as she is one of my favorite authors. It is cliché to say, but beyond the positive words about Fablewood it was a wonderful experience to correspond with someone I respect so much and find out they are as gracious, friendly, and as humble as I had expected (if not more).
Early this year Ape Entertainment released FABLEWOOD, a fantasy anthology I edited that was lucky enough to have some really talented folks take part in. Ryan Ottley (Invincible, Superman/Batman Annual #1), Manny Trembley (Panda Xpress, Sam Noir: Samurai Detective), Joe Infunari (Oni Talent Search, Borrowed Time), J.P. Ahonen and Sarah Mensinga (Flight 4) and talented newcomers like Chris Studabaker (Howard E. Day Prize Nominee), Kevin Crossley (Event Horizon), Axel Machain (Metal Hurlant), Joe Suitor (Popgun Anthology) and more.

You can find these a couple places on the boards, but here is some artwork from Ryan Ottley with colors by Manny Trembley:

You can find Fablewood at your local comic shop, or if they can't get it for you at the Ape Entertainment Website.
