Planet of the Apes Cataclysm #1D by Phil Noto

The cover of the month is a wholly arbitrary choice. I don’t follow the artist or pick a cover by my need to read the book. I choose based on gut reaction. I look for a cover that pops; if it gives me the “tell me more” reaction, it’s put on the short list. From that list, I choose the cover I like best, and this month I dig the Planet of the Apes Cataclysm cover #1D.

This limited variant cover is by Phil Noto, an artist who has run the gamut in the comic scene from writer to inker. His work has appeared in everything from X-Men to Hellboy. What made me choose this cover is the total retro look. It feels like it was put together in the 70′s. The entire book is cooler because of it.

What a great cover!
