Three years ago attending the San Diego Comic Con was a magical and exciting experience. I remember getting to the event early, but not too early. I have fond memories of parking in the underground garage, pulling my backpack over my shoulders and making my way up to the slightly crowded sidewalk that runs along the front of the San Diego Convention Center. Within the walls of that Convention center I would meet my favorite Comic Book writers and artists. Create new relationships with up and coming talent and if I was lucky run in to a big Hollywood star or two along the way. There were panels to set in on, movie premiers to review and fun to be had at every turn. I would take three or four trips a day to my car filling it with lovely Comic Con booty. Beyond all of that I always walked away from this event with literally month’s worth of material to write about.

So here we are three years later and the experience has changed a bit. Hotel rooms have become nearly impossible to attain unless you are willing to commute from Chula Vista or can pay upwards of $180.00 a night. The Hotels aren’t willing to work a deal for this event and with a complete lack of hotel rooms available they don’t have to. Read the rest of this entry »
