I know this will never happen since it has about every character in the story and would cost to much money but is fun to think about it anyway.-I.D
Here is the Story: OUR STORY BEGINS ON “a nameless planet in the backwater regions of the galaxy,” the same planet to which Thanos escaped at the end of the Infinity Gauntlet series. We learn that, in fact, he is not enjoying the simple life of a farmer, for underneath his modest hut lies a monitoring room whose scale can only be described as cosmic. It is here that he first discovers that “the entire universe stands in grave peril.” He decides to investigate.
Meanwhile, Marvel heroes are being stalked by grotesque and vicious versions of themselves. Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man and Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four all encounter and fight nightmare versions of themselves. Spider-Man and Wolverine defeat their doubles, but Iron Man is not so lucky and the fate of Mister Fantastic is uncertain.
On top of all that, the world-eater Galactus discovers that Eternity, the personification of All There Is in the universe, is catatonic, unable to act against the unknown force that put him/it in that state.
The architect of these seemingly unconnected events is revealed to be the Magus, a future version of Adam Warlock from an alternate timeline. As we learn in issue #2, the Magus conquered a thousand worlds in his timeline and was worshipped as an iron-fisted god by his subjects. But his timeline was erased by Warlock and Thanos working together, and he was also thought to have been erased from existence.
But he wasn’t. When Adam Warlock briefly assumed omnipotence during the Infinity Gauntlet saga, he strove to be worthy of his status of God — so much so that he subconsciously purged the concepts of good and evil from his being. The evil part of him — the Magus — reassumed his existence and began plotting his conquest over time and space.
Our heroes here on Earth convene to discuss the menace of these doppelgangers at the Fantastic Four headquarters, where a bomb placed by the evil version of Mister Fantastic blows up the building. Fortunately, our heroes survive, and join forces with Warlock and Thanos to defeat the Magus. No one is thrilled about considering Thanos on their side, but the war doesn’t leave them much choice.
The Magus succeeds in wresting the Infinity Gauntlet from Warlock’s hand, and although the cosmic forces have ruled that the Infinity Gems can never be used in unison again, the Magus reveals his plans for reversing that edict and making himself God. He succeeds, and our heroes march right into a battle with their own evil doubles when they storm his stronghold, only to be trapped like flies in amber when the Magus exercises his godlike powers.
The final battle is fought between Warlock and the Magus alone, as they both fight a battle on a cosmic scale for the ownership of the gauntlet. Unknown to the Magus, however, Thanos and Warlock tricked him by making one of the six gems a phony, giving the Magus less than the complete omnipotence he needed to win the battle.
With his defeat, the heroes are returned back to Earth, the gems are returned to the Infinity Watch for safekeeping, and the Magus is banished to the Soul World within Adam Warlock’s soul gem, there to spend the rest of eternity as a harmless phantom. Thanos returns to his nameless world to contemplate his role in this affair, and muses about the nature of Adam Warlock’s “good side,” which “may yet prove to be the greater threat.”
